José Miguel Moura Ferreira
José Miguel Moura Ferreira is an early career researcher at the Institute of Contemporary History, NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities (IHC NOVA FCSH /IN2PAST). He obtained his PhD in History at the Institute of Social Sciences, University of Lisbon (ICS-ULisboa) in 2021, with a thesis on agricultural improvement and forest management in 19 th century colonial Goa. His current research explores the connections between history writing and identity in South Asia, by focusing on the social history of Goan historiography in the 19th and 20th centuries. He is one of the chief editors of the journal Práticas da História. Journal on theory, historiography and uses of the past.
