José Evora
He has a degree in History and Archaeology from Varones State University (Russia), a Master's inAfrican Studies from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Porto (Portugal) and a PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Cape Verde. He is a researcher at the Cape Verde National Archives Institute and a member of the UNESCO Chair in History and Heritage at the University of Cape Verde. He is the author of several works on Cape Verde in the 19th century, in the fields of History, Culture and Heritage. Associate member of the History, Archaeology and Heritage Office, Solar Condes de Resende, Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. Collaborator with the Centre for African Studies, Faculty of Letters, University of Porto, Member of the international projects, RESISTANCE- Rebellion and Resistance in the Iberian Empires, 16th-19th, coordinated by the University of Évora and ATLANTIC ITALIES: Economic and cultural entanglements (15th-19th Centuries), coordinated by the University of Zurich (Switzerland). He is currently director of the Research and Documentary Communication Service at the National Archives Institute of Cape Verde and Executive Secretary of the Cape Verdean National Committee for UNESCO Memory of the World.
