First International Congress of the IGSCP-IP in Coimbra. The press of exile(s), 10-11 October 2024
As a contribution to the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April and the democracy associated with it, the Centro de Documentação 25 de Abril of the Universidade de Coimbra hosted the First Congress of the IGSCP-PE in Coimbra, The Press of Exile(s) on the 10 and 11 October 2024.
This initiative was also supported by other partners of this network and organizations that welcomed the idea, starting from CHAM – Centro de Humanidades of NOVA-FCSH, the Fundação Mário Soares e Maria Barroso, the Laboratoire d'Etudes Romanes (LER) of the Université de Paris 8 Vincennes Saint-Denis, the Biblioteca Nacional de Angola, the Arquivo de História Social of the ICS-Universidade de Lisboa, and the group ECOS-Exílios, contrariar o silêncio of CRIA- Centro em Rede de Investigação em Antropologia.
Adding to research papers, the encounter held two round-tables, in Portuguese language:
- The archives of exile press, with the event's partner documentation centres, which recording may be seen at the IGSCP-PE's youtube channel.
- Anticolonial Press, Exiles and Exiled, participated by former exiles, which recording is also shared at the IGSCP-PE's youtube channel
Finally the partner documentation centres, in collaboration with the congress research team, produced the document on exile press, on the exile periodicals in these centres, which was made available online at Fundação Mário Soares and Maria Barroso.
